No strangers to the NBA Playoffs, getting there 29 times winning four NBA titles; 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007, the San Antonio Spurs have become one of the best and arguably the most ‘well oiled’ teams in the NBA. Since drafting David ‘The Admiral’ Robinson in 1989, the Spurs began to really come alive. Even after his departure in 2003, leaving a young Tim Duncan to shoulder the load, it wasn’t really an issue. By 2002, the Spurs were a hot commodity in the NBA having won a title already proving they could be contenders. Duncan wasn’t alone either as the Spurs had acquired Tony Parker as ‘floor general’ and Manu Ginobili to round out their personnel.

An Impressive Mid-season Record

So far, the 2010/2011 season has been laden with streaks, losing and winning ones and some unexpected losses from teams that should really be crushing opponents regularly. But, in all the excitement and confusion, the Spurs have cruised to 36-6, that’s 36 wins and 6 losses for anyone not paying close attention, or looking at it another way, 13 wins on the road and four losses plus 23 wins at home and only two losses with home-court advantage. Their current record speaks for itself, and to be fair, any doubts about getting to the playoffs have been put to pasture.
