A reception was held prior to the showing, serving the Union Hotel Restaurant's house wines from Sonoma County and tasty appetizers made with farm fresh ingredients.
The "Running Fence" Revisited Film by Wolfram Hissen
The Smithsonian American Art Museum co-produced the DVD with filmmaker Wolfram Hissen of estWest Films and Video Productions as a tribute to Christo and Jeanne-Claude's historic art installation "Running Fence, Sonoma and Marin Counties, 1972-1976." Thirty-four years after the event, the Smithsonian acquired over 350 Running Fence related works, and is exhibiting them through September 26, 2010 in Washington, D.C. Their exhibition will be open afterward for tours to additional venues.
Two more airings of The "Running Fence" Revisited film are Thursday and Friday nights at 7:15 p.m., June 24-25, 2010 at the Charles M. Schulz Museum theater, but all tickets have been sold. The Sonoma County Tourism Board and Friends of the Running Fence are additional sponsors.
